YumDeal - Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

YumDeal collects only publicly available restaurant information from DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub when you explicitly click the "Scan" button:

• Restaurant names
• Menu item names and prices
• Promotional offers and deals (e.g., "BOGO", "$5 off $20+")
• Delivery fees and estimated delivery times
• Restaurant ratings and reviews
• Restaurant geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude)

This is the same information any visitor can see on these websites.

2. What We DO NOT Collect

YumDeal does NOT collect, access, or transmit:

• ❌ Your name, email, or contact information
• ❌ Login credentials or passwords
• ❌ Payment information or credit card details
• ❌ Your home address or personal location
• ❌ Browsing history or search queries
• ❌ Order history or purchase records
• ❌ Any cookies or tracking data

3. How We Use Data

The restaurant data we collect is used solely to:

• Display deal comparisons to you in the extension interface
• Store aggregated deal statistics (e.g., "40% of restaurants offer free delivery")
• Improve deal detection accuracy

We do NOT:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use data for advertising
• Share data with unrelated services
• Track your behavior across websites

4. User Control

You have complete control over data collection:

• Scanning is manual: Data is collected ONLY when you click "Scan"
• Stop button: Cancel scanning at any time via the stop button
• Clear cache: Delete locally stored data via extension settings
• Uninstall: Removes all local data immediately

5. Data Storage

Local Storage: Scanned deals are temporarily cached in your browser for faster comparison. You can clear this at any time.

Server Storage: Anonymous restaurant deal data is sent to api.yumdeal.net for aggregation. This data contains no personally identifiable information.

Data Retention: Deal data older than 30 days is automatically deleted from our servers.

6. Third-Party Services

YumDeal interacts with:

• DoorDash, UberEats, Grubhub: To extract publicly visible restaurant information
• api.yumdeal.net: Our own backend for storing anonymous deal data

We do NOT share data with advertising networks, analytics services, or other third parties.

7. Security

All data transmission occurs over secure HTTPS connections. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect stored data.

8. Children's Privacy

YumDeal is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
